Weavership

We weave social change with others because we know that we won’t get to the life-affirming world we seek by working on our own. We recognize that for transformation to take place, we need each other and we need to recognize our interconnectedness with all of life as well as the interconnectedness of the issues we are dealing with. We weave to transform our education from a colonial education model to an education that has the power to liberate us all. We weave because we believe in our own agency and the agency of every young person to take ownership of their learning and to create ripples of change in their communities that will eventually become unstoppable waves. To create the world of our deepest longing, we need more and more people to embrace new ways of learning, being, and doing in the world and weave these new and ancient ways into the fabric of our new world.

The act of weaving is complex: it involves deep self-awareness, developing intergenerational and intercultural relationships, organizing diverse education stakeholders around a common vision and mobilizing people into action. It involves being and becoming the (eco)systems we wish to see. As a YxY Weaver, you will learn how to weave the self, relationships, groups, communities, ecosystems and movements towards a world where all people and planet can thrive.  Learn more about the skills you will learn on the Weaving Lab's website.
