Intergenerational Collaboration in Philanthropy

Remijus N. Iweobi
and
Gayle Nosal
Moderated by Nathan from Porticus, Hosted by Erioluwa from YouthxYouth. “Intergenerational Collaboration in Philanthropy: How are funders collaborating with youth leaders and their communities to create meaningful, lasting change? Throughout this discussion, we aim to explore several thought-provoking questions, including: What if young people were at the center of philanthropic decisions? What would that look, smell, and feel like? How can we disrupt the “adultification” of funding, where young people are expected to conform to adult standards or navigate inaccessible opportunities to build relationships with funders? What would it mean if funders and donors saw themselves as allies, not just partners, in the work of transformation? By the end of the session, we hope to inspire concrete commitments, including: A stronger commitment from funders to engage in intergenerational collaboration. A pledge to be more inclusive of young people in decision-making processes. A shift towards intergenerational ways of working in philanthropy.

Technology, the Endless Riddle

Karn Sun
and
A rumination on how technology has shaped how we interface with reality, and in particular, how it has shaped our notions of human development. What type of technological terrain has society laid out for us to traverse? What are some ways to think about how technology has or hasn't touched education? But most importantly, what is the role of technology in the most beautiful world our hearts know is possible?
