Embodying the Change through Showcases

Our annual Learning Festival is a space where youth activists and adult allies alike are invited to embark on a 3-day learning journey, with conscious activism and revolutionary love at its core. During these three days, there will be an array of sessions, including Activist Classrooms, Labs, Community Gardens, and, of course, Showcases. Our Showcases are the culminating events of our Global Action Circles (GAC) program, a 5-month learning journey during which participants start with a learning question and develop innovative projects to address educational challenges in their communities.

This year, we are hosting four Showcases connected to our four GACs - here is everything you need to know about them:

1. Youth Mental Health x Community Based Learning - Saturday, January 27th from 4:30 pm to 5:50 pm UTC: Presented by the Youth Mental Health and Community Based Learning GACs Community in Us weaves a story of well-being and collective transformation. In our Showcase, we invite you to join our group’s journey through communal and experiential learning. We weave our stories across space, time, and ecosystems.

2. Climate and Nature x Gender Education - Saturday, January 27th from 4:30 pm to 5:50 pm UTC: The Gender and Climate Nature Education Global Action Circle will present its showcase: Green is the New Gender. Our guiding question will be, “How do we ensure good climate change practices and incorporate them in promoting gender equality?” Attend our showcase  to listen and learn from passionate youth activists and adult allies who are creating positive changes in their respective communities to reimagine a green world.

3. Peace x Relational and Inclusive Education - Saturday, January 27th from 4:30 pm to 5:50 pm UTC: The Peace Education and Relational and Inclusive Education Global Action Circles will present their Showcase: Cultivating Peace through Relational and Inclusive Education. This showcase will be guided by a core question: 'What if we found peace through relational and inclusive education?' Join us to hear inspiring youth activists and adult allies bringing to life the worlds they long for through revolutionary projects.

4. Technology x Supporting Youth Educators - Sunday, January 28th from 4:40 pm to 6 pm UTC: The Technology x Supporting Youth Educators Global Action Circle will present its Showcase: The Journey to Innovation. We are a community of individuals with a common purpose, to address global education issues, by providing possible solutions to meet the education needs in our various communities. This year we had similar learning questions which helped to strengthen our learning journey and also made the GAC process insightful, filled with new ideas, collaboration and innovation. It is a community of individuals with the drive to give more to our communities. The YouthxYouth community encourages peer-to-peer learning and the sharing of experiences, which has had a significant impact on our individual project development process and our GAC journey.
