The Café Experience 2025

The YouthxYouth Cafés are intergenerational small group conversations for experienced youth activists and adult allies who seek to build relationships and co-create tangible actions in service of complex challenges in education transformation. Each of this year’s Cafés will be groups of 10-15 people (likely 8-10 youth and 3-5 adult allies) who meet each day of our Learning Festival (January 24th, 25th, and 26th) to connect, co-create, and explore this year’s theme: "Education for the End of the World as We Know It."

Together with your cafe co-activists,  you’ll ask: What does it mean to foster an education that embraces the end of outdated paradigms? Through these conversations, you will explore how to grieve what has been lost, hospice what no longer serves us, and renew a shared hope for a more beautiful, resilient world.

Cafés will happen at 1pm UTC each day.

Annual Learning Festival

The YouthxYouth Learning Festival is a youth-led, three-day journey to reimagine education in a changing world. Guided by What is? What if? What now?, it’s a space to feel, heal, and act—uniting a global community to shape education for a world where all life belongs.

About the program

The annual Learning Festival is a convergence of dedicated beings from all over the globe dedicated to learning, imagining, and weaving with one another in service of education transformation. This hybrid gathering, occurring every January around the International Day of Education in partnership with Learning Planet Institute, is a space committed to fostering a sense of belonging, learning, and co-action among all who engage both online and in-person in our Glocal Hubs. Each year, the Festival focuses on one learning question that guides us through the 3-day learning journey from What Is to What If and culminating with What Now. We host multiple sessions from Activist Classrooms to Community Gardens and even an Open Mic!

To get a feel for what our Learning Festivals are like, check out some of our past festivals:

2024 Learning Festival: “How do we need to know, live, and weave together to create the world of our deepest longings?"

2023 Learning Festival: “What do we need to learn, be, and do, to create the world of our deepest longing?"

2022 Learning Festival: “HOW will young people design the future of education?"

2021 Learning Festival: “WHAT IF young people designed the future of education?"
